Summary: GetBriefed stores your data locally on your device and optionally syncs via iCloud. When you use AI-powered features, limited data is processed through our secure servers and Anthropic's Claude AI to provide intelligent suggestions. No data is retained after processing.
Introduction
GetBriefed ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.
Data Storage
Your data is stored in the following ways:
- Local Storage: All data you enter (contacts, facts, interactions, notes) is stored on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework.
- iCloud Sync: If enabled, your data syncs across your devices via your personal iCloud account. This data is stored in your private iCloud container, encrypted by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
- Voice Recordings: Voice notes are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to external servers. Only the transcribed text may be processed for AI features.
AI-Powered Features
Important: When you use AI features, some data is transmitted to external services for processing.
GetBriefed offers AI-powered features including:
- Extracting facts from conversation notes
- Generating personalized conversation topics
What data is processed:
- Contact names, company, and role
- Facts you've recorded about contacts
- Interaction notes and locations
- Voice note transcriptions
How data is processed:
- Data is sent securely (HTTPS) to our servers hosted on Vercel
- Our servers forward the data to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing
- AI-generated suggestions are returned to your device
- No data is stored or retained on our servers or by Anthropic after processing
Third-party AI provider: We use Anthropic to power our AI features. Anthropic processes data according to their privacy policy and does not use your data to train their models when accessed via their API.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- No Account Required: You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to use GetBriefed.
- No Analytics: We do not use analytics or tracking tools to monitor your usage.
- No Advertising: We do not display ads or share data with advertisers.
- No Data Sales: We never sell your data to third parties.
Notifications
GetBriefed may send local notifications (such as birthday reminders or meeting briefings) if you enable them. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not require any data transmission.
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- Apple's built-in device encryption
- Secure on-device storage (SwiftData)
- HTTPS encryption for all AI feature data transmission
- iCloud encryption for synced data (managed by Apple)
Your Control Over Your Data
You have complete control over your information:
- Delete Individual Data: Remove any contact, fact, or interaction within the app
- Export Your Data: Export all your data as CSV files from Settings
- Delete All Data: Delete the app to remove all locally stored data
- Disable iCloud: Turn off iCloud sync in your device settings
- Avoid AI Features: You can use the app without AI features by not using the "Analyze" function
Children's Privacy
GetBriefed does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for general audiences.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
